Soul's Remnant Crafting: Life Skills, Recipes & Minigame
Learn Soul's Remnant crafting: every life skill, how to unlock recipes, the card minigame, Auto Craft, and why crafted gear carries your name.
Soul’s Remnant has eight crafting professions, from Weapon Smithing and Armor Crafting to Cooking and Alchemy, and the whole system opens with the [,] key. Every recipe’s materials and level requirement are visible from the start, and most crafts play out as a card-based minigame with limited turns and rerolls. This guide covers the professions, the minigame, Auto Craft, and the life skills behind it all. Everything here was checked on August 14, 2026.
Opening the Crafting Window and Reading Recipes
The crafting window is bound to the [,] key by default. Open it and select the profession you want to view or use. Even from the very beginning of your playtime, you can click any recipe and see its full material requirements and the profession level required to craft it. If your profession level is too low, the item’s sprite is blacked out and red text marks that your level is too low to attempt the craft. Nothing is hidden: you always know what to farm and how far you are from making it.
The Professions and What They Make
Here is the full list of crafting professions in Soul’s Remnant. Weapon Smithing makes weapons. Armor Crafting makes hats, topwear, bottomwear, and shoes. Jeweler, the jewelry crafting profession, makes accessories. Cooking makes foods, and Alchemy makes potions. Artisan Crafting is planned for furniture crafting and currently focuses on crafting instruments. General crafting covers a select few pieces of equipment, plus Campfires. Transmutation is a special crafting type reserved for changing the element on your weapon, and Matters, which are crafted through Alchemy, are a common part of every transmutation recipe.
How the Card Minigame Works
Most crafted items go through a crafting minigame. The item’s appearance is displayed in the top-left, and its current spread of Stats and Echoes stays updated in the top-right. When you begin most crafts, the item starts with no echoes, and its stats start fairly low. Below that is the card system, with your remaining rerolls and turns displayed to the right. You are always shown three cards at a time, and each turn you either pick one card or spend a reroll to draw a new set of three. Selecting a card consumes one turn and applies its effect, and the item preview updates immediately. The minigame ends when your turns run out, and the finished item is placed in the appropriate tab in your inventory with the final combination of stats and echoes you crafted onto it.
What percentages actually mean
Cards with percentage boosts use a closing the gap system. The boost is not taken from the current value of the stat; it is taken from the gap between the current value and the line’s maximum. The wiki’s example: an item has +2.0 global attack and its maximum is +10.0, a gap of 8.0. A +50% card changes the item from +2.0 to +6.0, because 50% of 8.0 is 4.0. This also makes true maximum rolls difficult: at +9.0 out of +10.0, a +75% card only brings you to +9.8. Most line values round up to the tenth decimal place, and whole-number lines round up too, so maximum values are reachable if you throw enough cards at the problem.
How to get more turns and rerolls
The key to better crafts is more minigame turns and rerolls. The most common source is your profession level: as you level a profession you occasionally unlock new recipes and gain additional crafting turns and rerolls for it. Select equipment types can also roll echoes that aid one profession’s minigame or all professions’ minigames, and consumables from Cooking that go through the crafting minigame have a chance of gaining crafting echoes. Just remember that a food buff is a buff with a duration: if it expires, you might start a craft and find you have fewer turns and rerolls than you expected.
Cooking cards work differently
Cooking is the exception to the gap rule. The stats provided by Cooking items are treated as already being at maximum value, so cards that affect cooking item stats calculate off the item’s current value. There are also no echo improvement cards for cooking, only cards that add echoes, across five bonus groups: utility bonuses such as Echoes Find, EXP Gain, Skill EXP Gain, and Light Radius; offensive bonuses such as global attack, crit rate, crit damage, armor penetration, and accuracy; defensive bonuses such as instant heal HP and MP, knockback resistance, and HP and MP regeneration; gathering bonuses such as Special Node Chance and Frenzy Node Chance; and crafting bonuses, which are More Turns and More Rerolls. Notable cards include Comfort Food, which heals 35% more HP when eaten, Slow-Cooked, which makes the food buff last 25% longer, Preserved Feast at +50%, and the legendary Eternal Repast at +70%.
Auto Craft, Instant Crafts, and Your Name
For certain items, like most Alchemy options, the craft is instantaneous: click the button and the item is made. Items with an Auto Craft option behave the same way: click, finish, item obtained. There is also a bonus for overleveling: if your crafting level is higher than the recipe’s required level, you have an increased chance of getting echoes when crafting.
Whether the craft was instant or hand-rolled through cards, it is your name on the product. Crafted gear and meals carry your character’s name, and the wiki frames crafting as a way to get your name out there and help other players become the best versions of themselves. Players report that the maker name stays visible when the item moves through player shops and trades (player report).
Life Skills, Gathering, and Unlocking Professions
Every item you craft grants skill EXP for its relevant profession, and each profession operates like the gathering skills and combat passives: every level provides permanent buffs to your character. Alchemy grants +1 Max HP every 4 levels and +1 Max MP every 6. Weapon Smithing grants +2% Damage Balance every 15 levels and +1 Armor Pen every 29. Armor Crafting grants +1 Defense every 15 levels, Jeweler +0.8% Item Drops every 14, and Cooking +1 Knockback Resistance every 19. Artisan Crafting grants +1% Echoes Find every 8 levels, plus +1% Soul Crystal every 16. Gathering skills follow the same pattern: Herbalism grants HP and MP regeneration every 19 levels, Mining grants +1 Light Radius every 15, and Fishing grants +1 LUK every 10 levels and +6% Speed every 30.
Life skills cap at level 99 and level automatically once you have enough skill EXP, with no material requirements. You need the matching gathering skill level to gather certain materials from the world, and crafting recipes unlock at the required crafting level.
Gathering minigames
Gathering is not a passive click. Mining, fishing, and herbalism run timed, DDR-style key-press minigames (player report), and the fishing minigame uses arrow-key inputs (player report). Players report that the minigames get harder as the related skill level rises (player report). Your gathering gear matters too: players report you need crafted gathering equipment to get the most out of nodes (player report).
How to unlock professions
Life skill quests are started from the skill window (player report). Some professions begin through NPCs instead. To learn Fishing, talk to Mysterious Kmitty, who hangs around near the water on the spawn grounds; she teaches you fishing and sends you on the Fishing Practice quest. Details on how the other professions unlock are not yet confirmed.
