Soul's Remnant Quest Guide: Main Quests, Dailies & Rewards
How quests work in Soul's Remnant: tutorial chain, Quest Master dailies, area quest markers, party quests, and life skill quests - plus what rewards to expect.
Quests in Soul’s Remnant run from the shepherd’s tutorial steps to repeatable dailies that reset at 5pm PST. The Quest Master by the Great Campfire hands out the Daily Hunt for a 2x EXP coupon, zone villagers chain kill quests with big EXP rewards, and every life skill starts from a quest in your Skills window. All details were checked on August 14, 2026, against the official wiki.
How Quests Work in Soul’s Remnant
Quests arrived in the 2025 open beta and now cover the tutorial, leveling, dailies, and every life skill. Completing a quest rewards items and XP, and the wiki marks each quest with a colored outline: blue means the quest can only be done once, light blue means daily, and red marks the relationship-boosting dailies that appear after level 10.
How do I track and turn in quests?
Open the Quest Window with the [/] key. Green text appears as you progress toward an objective, and white text announces completion. Most quests turn in through the Complete button in the Quest Window, though some require speaking to the villager. Dots show status: white means newly obtained, blue means ready to turn in, and gold means pinned. The Pin button keeps a quest’s objectives on screen in a separate window.
The Tutorial Chain: Slimes to Level 10
The shepherd in Outskirts Northwest runs the mandatory tutorial chain and also gates your exit from the starter area. Every new character walks the same set of quests.
What does the tutorial teach?
Prepare for the Hunt! teaches you to learn a skill, activate it, and put it on your hotbar for 60 EXP. Ready your Stats! has you press O and assign your 5 stat points. Slime Hunt! sends you to defeat 5 slimes for 150 EXP, the Faded Innocence weapon, and small potions. Gear Up! has you equip that weapon from your inventory, Ouch! Heals pls has you drink a potion, and Sharpen Your Edge! has you fill a basic attack’s EXP bar for essences and Soul Crystals.
How do I leave the starter area?
The Shepherd’s Barrier quest requires reaching level 10 before the shepherd lets you out of the outskirts, rewarding 200 EXP and a Normal Dungeon Pass. Launch-day players report level 10 is the hard requirement to leave the starter area, with an NPC named Sean handling the exit (player report).
What is the Slime Garden quest?
The Shepherd’s Final Test follows right after: the shepherd challenges you to clear the Slime Garden dungeon, whose entrance the wiki says is hidden somewhere in Outskirts Northwest. Clearing it and returning earns 500 EXP and 500 Soul Crystals. The exact spot of the hidden entrance is not yet confirmed in the wiki’s quest list, so explore the outskirts thoroughly.
Quest Master Dailies and Rewards
The Quest Master stands next to the Great Campfire in Spawn, a villager in white with a monocle and a book. They offer the daily quest that resets at 5pm PST plus a questline that helps you reach level 10, and repeatable quests show in brighter blue.
What is the Daily Hunt?
The Daily Hunt repeats every 20 hours: kill 200 monsters near your level for EXP based on your current level, one 2x EXP Coupon, and a Tear of the Abyss. The coupon is the prize, and players time their grinding around it; launch-week players also noted a bug where changing channels wiped the buff (player report).
What does the leveling questline look like?
The Quest Master’s Exploring the Outskirts chain scales up through the zone: 25 slimes, 25 bubble spirits, 45 jels, 55 flows, 65 pin pins, 75 slips, 85 hoppers, and finally 10 glowsnails in the southwest for 550 EXP and two Ambitious Souls. Rewards climb from 75 EXP to thousands as the hunts deepen.
What are Villager Requests?
From level 12, the Quest Master lists requests from fellow villagers, and a random 3 become available daily, resetting at 5pm PST. Each grants the villager 500 Hearts plus EXP, Soul Crystals, or profession EXP: Gevil wants red shards, emeralds, or sapphires and rubies; the Shopkeeper wants red herbs; the Smith wants copper ingots; and Kmitty wants glowfish. The Quest Master also posts kill and essence bounties.
What reward types do quests give?
EXP and Soul Crystals are the base. On top sit souls like the Energetic and Ambitious Souls, gems like the Nurturing, Mystic, and Calamity Gems, dungeon passes, Mystery Tickets, potions, equipment such as the tutorial’s Faded Innocence, and life skill EXP. Relationship dailies also build Hearts, and every essence bounty feeds skill upgrades.
Zone Quests and the Quest Board
Talking to the Quest Master opens the Quest Board: Daily requests jump to the Daily tab, while Browse the quest board opens the Overworld tab. The Daily tab never holds more than 4 quests, the Daily Hunt plus up to 3 relationship dailies. The Overworld tab lists quests relevant to your level and completion status, with each quest’s level requirement, villager and location, and status shown as Available, In Progress, or Finish the previous quest first.
What are zone quests?
Every zone has at least one villager with a kill chain. The shepherd’s Plains chain runs from 100 cloudsheep through squishlings and black cloudsheep, Gevil’s Beach chain covers snappers, crushers, and droppos and troppos, Kmitty’s Savannah chain covers lickis, bananeks, and citruslimes, and the Ferryman’s Misty Forest chain covers monoghouls, sadlings, and dark pumpkins. Later zones escalate: 300 kills for the shepherd’s Lost Plains chain, 500 each for Tailor’s Ocean chain, and 600 each for the Quest Master’s Desert chain, with EXP scaling from 4,400 to over 800,000.
Do quests auto-complete remotely?
In the launch build, yes. Players report that quests auto-complete remotely and each area shows quest markers, so you can finish objectives without running back to the NPC to turn in (player report). Older playtest-era advice about hand-in trips is outdated.
What is the Kmitty questline?
Kmitty, lounging at the top-right of Spawn, starts a family questline at level 10: bowties, wheat, blue shards, glowsnails, a golden cloud piece, shell pieces, and more, ending with Free Kmitty! for 35,000 EXP. Finishing the line unlocks a unique dungeon and updates Kmitty’s shop.
Party Quests and Life Skill Quests
Two more quest families matter: the party-quest chains tucked under Additional Quests, and the life skill quests that unlock every profession.
What are party quests?
The beach questline is the classic party quest: Around the Beach asks for 2 chompers caught by fishing, Find the Golden Sheep! wants a golden cloud piece, and Finishing the Job sends you into a special challenge whose entrance sits somewhere in the Beach Hunting Ground map. Players compare these hidden party quests to MapleStory-style PQs like the Kerning City PQ (player report).
How do I start life skills?
Open the Skills Window, click the life skill you want, and press Get Quest to start the unlock chain. Each chain sends you to a teacher on the Spawn grounds: the Shepherd for herbalism and mining, Kmitty for fishing, Gevil for jewelry crafting, the Smith for weapon smithing, the Tailor for armor crafting and artisan, and the Shop Keeper for alchemy and cooking. Each Practice quest, like gathering 15 green herbs or brewing 10 potions, grants 950 profession EXP.
What are relationship quests?
Once you build enough Heart Points with a villager, they offer relationship quests that deepen the bond and give a little something extra. Daily requests are the steady way to stack Hearts, and the red-outlined dailies after level 10 are part of this system.
What about endgame questlines?
The Ferryman behind The Grave runs the Abyss chain, asking you to reach floors 10, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 of the trial dungeon for up to 70,000 EXP, gems, souls, and dungeon passes. At level 60, Unlocking Potential sends you from the Quest Master to the Tailor, then asks for 200 life essences, a Hard Plains Dungeon clear, 3 transcendent souls, a radiant dungeon crystal, and 500,000 Soul Crystals to unlock your third buff slot.
