Soul's Remnant Aug 28–Sep 4 Patches: Party EXP Rework

Aug 28–Sep 4 patches for Soul's Remnant: Shiny System, guild storage, party EXP rework, two new echoes, map renames, Trading Cards, and the +25% EXP weekend.

9/2/2026 Last updated: 9/12/2026

Last checked: September 12, 2026. This page follows the official August 28, August 31, and September 4 patch notes, plus the Bonus EXP Weekend and Trading Cards posts.

The August 28 patch added the Shiny System, auction search, and the trading level gate. August 31 then reworked Ice and Ghost, fixed party grinding EXP, and added guild storage. September 4 rebuilt party EXP again around damage share, added two new echoes, and renamed the desert maps. A separate post set a +25% combat EXP weekend for September 4–6.

Shiny System

Gevil can now make your equipment shiny. You offer a soul, and the item gets a cosmetic effect plus one upgrade slot. The look can be toggled off at Gevil any time, but the extra slot stays.

This is the first system that turns souls into a gear stat instead of just cosmetics. If you have an item you plan to keep for endgame, the +1 slot is the reason to save souls instead of spending them on rerolls.

Trading Gate

Trading now requires level 25. The rest of the trade changes were aimed at bots and RMT. If you run alts for trading or carry items between characters, expect the level wall first.

Auction House

  • Search by typing stats: echo counts, stat tiers.
  • Search specific skills on the Ring of Atlas.
  • List multiple material stacks in one go.
  • The UI warns you before listing far below your intended price.

The stat search changes how you shop for echoes: instead of scrolling the last-day list for a tier 3 line, you can filter for it directly. Price history works the same as before.

Magic Rework (Round 3)

  • Gravity Well: large wells now pull monsters from other platforms.
  • Blink: 0.25 seconds of invulnerability.
  • Star Fall: drifts toward nearby monsters on its own now.
  • Arcane Surge: locks onto monsters vertically as well as horizontally.

Aug 21 already changed how these play (Gust 4.5s → 3s, Star Fall toggle, double-speed Arcane Surge). This round makes Blink a real panic button and Star Fall a set-and-forget skill. Re-check your boss rotation if you were mid-way through a trial this week.

Combat & Skills

  • Shield Bash: range scales with movement speed now. Faster boots = bigger hitbox.
  • Shadow Step: duration capped at base + 4 seconds.
  • Nature’s Veil: counts your fishing level as gathering level; the invisibility no longer breaks when a Mighty Monster is on the map.
  • Soul Blood Cape: HP/MP trigger thresholds.
  • Elemental Charge: effect renders behind the character.
  • Speed was renamed to Movement Speed; keyboard aiming for arrow skills no longer walks you into portals.

World & Content

  • Mighty Monsters: HP and EXP scale only with players actively killing, capped at 8.
  • Barrier Forge: ore spawn scales with players in the dungeon.
  • Mirage: spawns more often for Ironman players.
  • Beach PQ: Blue Slime Pieces are granted on party completion to anyone holding the quest — no longer a boss drop.
  • Gathering: tree and herb nodes no longer spawn on top of each other.
  • Alchemy: new recipe to craft Normal Dungeon Passes.
  • Training dummies added to every market hub.

Guild & Social

  • Missing guild upkeep now only disables guild functions until it is paid. Guilds no longer de-level.
  • Party invites, buddy requests, and guild join requests work across channels.

What the August 31 Patch Changed

Ice and Ghost both play differently now. Ice Shatter scales off the damage you already dealt to that monster, not its max HP. Ghost pulls enemies in gradually instead of yeeting the whole map. Seirei damage is up 10%. Elemental ownership is tighter when two players apply the same element to one monster.

You can jump during the attack-stop animation. Phasing now gains EXP while moving in combat. Login and channel-change i-frames last a bit longer.

Party EXP is no longer worse than solo

The patch explicitly fixed party grinding EXP being slower than solo grinding EXP. DoT kills also award full EXP now. Round Robin loot no longer looks random, and AFK players are excluded from the share.

If you were soloing because “party EXP felt worse,” that was a bug. Group up for the weekend event.

Guild storage and the notice board

Leaders can post a Guild Notice that members see on login. Guild Storage scales with guild level and uses the same requirements as trading and the Auction House. There is a 5 second delay before you can leave a guild. Guild names no longer get translated.

Quality of life that actually changes a grind

  • Bosses pin an HP bar at the top of the screen for everyone on the map.
  • Completed quests have their own tab. Quest objectives tell you where to go next when the list is done.
  • Maps show monster level range on hover.
  • Storage and crafting both have search. Crafting search can start from a material and list every recipe that uses it.
  • Loadouts (skill, equipment, stats) can be renamed.
  • Food buffs persist across channels. Crafter names appear on food.
  • Already-equipped items can go into the Shining window without unequipping.
  • Megaphones have a 5 second cooldown. /mute mutes chat and megaphones.
  • Mirages are 30% more common and last 15 minutes.
  • Cash shop: Weapon Orientation Coupon, Trailing Star Aura. Kmitty Pass owners get Ferni on Head around September.

Ring of Atlas no longer lets you buff, swap to stat rings, and keep four ring slots. Treat old “swap after buff” clips as patched.

Bonus EXP Weekend (September 4–6)

Official window, server-wide, no opt-in:

  • PST: Fri Sep 4, 9am – Sun Sep 6, 9pm
  • CEST: Fri Sep 4, 6pm – Mon Sep 7, 6am
  • GMT+8: Sat Sep 5, 12am – Mon Sep 7, 12pm

All combat EXP +25%. The post says it is also a test for later weekend bonuses. Stack it with a party now that party EXP is fixed.

What the September 4 Patch Changed

Party EXP rework: EXP follows the people who actually fought

This one is not a bug fix — it is a rule change. Your damage is your EXP share. Healers and supports finally get their cut, and equal effort means equal EXP: no last-hit bonus, no top-damager bonus. The party bonus now grows with real contributors, not headcount, and being AFK earns nothing.

Watch the flip side: you keep everything your own damage earns, but you can no longer level off a high-level partner’s kills. August 31 made grouping not-punishing; September 4 made it pay-for-performance.

New echoes and terrain

  • Two new echoes: Item Pickup Speed and Combat Footwork. Where do you find them? The patch notes only say “take a guess :3” — not confirmed yet; we will update once spotted.
  • Terrain Step-Up: you now automatically step up one block over uneven terrain. It can be turned off in the options.

Combat, chat, and auction house

  • Blink and Dash now behave far more reliably in tight spaces.
  • Onslaught now scales more with melee.
  • Scrolling up in chat no longer force-scrolls you back down when a new message arrives.
  • Auction House price history is much easier to read.

Map renames (old guides will trip on this)

  • Desert 8 is now Oasis.
  • Desert 5, 6, and 7 are now Deep Desert 1, 2, and 3.

If you are following an older guide into the desert zones, match by the new names. Our area pages will be updated to the new names as they get checked.

Cosmetics and fixes

  • New cosmetics: Traffic Cone, Head Bow, Maid Top, and Maid Skirt.
  • Fixed custom dyes coming out different from what was selected (the “I” slider was removed from the color picker).
  • Fixed Perseverance not working in combos.
  • Crafting can no longer consume locked items — locked gear and materials are protected from being used as ingredients.
  • Other fixes: the wrong item rarely being consumed when using items on equipment, guild name outlines not showing, name colors failing to load after respawning, item icons not animating in chat, the dungeon results screen not centered, and prismatic dye not stacking with weapon orientation.

Meanwhile: Steam Trading Cards went live (September 3)

10 villager Trading Cards with matching emoticons, 10 profile backgrounds based on the game’s biomes, and a 5-level evolving Badge with a foil version. Free-to-play games drop cards based on purchases: roughly one card drop per $9 spent since the feature launched, or buy them on the Steam Community Market.
