Soul's Remnant Dungeon Guide: Passes, Bosses & Rewards

Every Soul's Remnant dungeon explained: how Dungeon Passes set difficulty, solo vs party runs, Silver Chests, Cave Trial, Abyss Trial, and party quests.

8/14/2026 Last updated: 8/14/2026

Every dungeon in Soul’s Remnant starts with a Dungeon Pass. Offer a pass at a floating crystal entrance and its rarity sets the difficulty: rarity 1-3 runs are Normal, 4-6 are Hard, and 7-9 are Extreme. You can clear any dungeon solo, but a party is smarter because every member gets their own Silver Chest. Below: entrances, rooms, rewards, the Cave and Abyss Trials, and party quests. All details were checked on August 14, 2026.

How Do You Enter a Dungeon?

What do the floating crystal entrances do?

Dungeons look like floating crystals and contain valuable items plus a good amount of Player EXP (official wiki). Interacting with one opens a window with the recommended levels and possible rewards, which anyone can inspect, party leader or not (official wiki).

How do Dungeon Passes work?

To enter, your party leader (or you yourself if solo) must drag a chosen Dungeon Pass into the designated box as an offering. The dungeon reads the offered item and its Echoes, generates a layout, and pressing Enter consumes the pass and sends everyone on the entrance map inside (official wiki). The item’s rarity sets the difficulty: rarity 1-3 means Normal, 4-6 means Hard, and 7-9 means Extreme (official wiki). Offering the same item recreates that layout; a different item generates a different one, and layouts reset occasionally, so runs differ day to day. Echoes on a pass can dramatically increase difficulty (official wiki).

Can you run dungeons solo?

Yes. There is nothing stopping you from dungeon delving alone, and you do not even need to form a solo-party, but you do need a Dungeon Pass (official wiki). Launch-week players confirm the level 10 dungeon, Slime Garden, is doable solo at level 10, and an NPC on the northwest outskirts hands out a free dungeon ticket (player report). A party is still smarter: each member gets their own Silver Chest, and unwanted drops are easy trade bait (official wiki).

What Happens Inside a Dungeon?

What are the room types?

The blue entrance room holds a purple exit portal. Standard rooms stay sealed until the single Slime inside is defeated and its waves are cleared. The light red Key Room is harder, and its final wave drops the Boss Key. Yellow Loot Rooms hold Wooden Chests, up to four per clear. The bright red Boss Room is locked until the player holding the Boss Key enters first (official wiki). Bright blue lines on the map mark cleared rooms connected by safe travel (official wiki).

What are the death and re-entry rules?

Each member can respawn up to three times, sent back to the blue entrance room; on the fourth death the player is returned to Spawn and cannot re-enter (official wiki). Someone outside who offers the same item joins your instance, which is how dead players get back in or how oversized groups form (official wiki).

What do Time Trial and Double Trouble mean?

Some Dungeon Passes roll bonus modes. Time Trial asks you to complete the dungeon within a time limit for bonus rewards. Double Trouble doubles the monsters’ difficulty, including the boss waves, but gives double EXP and drops (official wiki). Both are pass Echoes, so you can see them before you commit to a run.

What Rewards Do Dungeons Give?

What are Silver and Wooden Chests?

Silver Chests only appear after defeating the final boss of a dungeon, and can contain everything from Auras to Furniture (official wiki). Every party member gets their own Silver Chest, and each player can only open one. Loot Rooms provide Wooden Chests along the way. A post-battle results window shows damage contribution and pays out bonus Soul Crystals based on it (official wiki).

What are Dungeon Crystals and Dungeon Essence used for?

Dungeon Crystals are rare dungeon materials used to level up your skills, valuable enough for the Auction House (official wiki). Every Silver Chest guarantees two essences: the dungeon-specific type (Grassy, Stone, or Dark) and generic Dungeon Essence. Normal gives 1 of each, Hard 2, Extreme 3 (official wiki). Merchants near each entrance sell wares for that dungeon’s specific essence, and the Mysterious Man at Spawn takes generic Dungeon Essence (official wiki).

The Cave Trial and the Abyss Trial

Two special dungeons sit at the deep end: the Cave Trial and the Abyss Trial.

What is the Cave Trial?

The Cave Trial can be found on the Deep Cave 5 map and drops Dark Dungeon Essence. Recommended levels are 30 for Normal, 60 for Hard, and 90 for Extreme, and the wiki warns it is memorable both inside and outside the dungeon. You can talk to the Ferryman in Cave 3 to move to Deep Cave 5 for 5,000 soul crystals, and they will bring you back for another 5,000 (official wiki). The official wiki’s Cave Trial page is still a work in progress, so deeper mechanics are not yet confirmed.

How does the Abyss Trial work?

The Abyss Trial floats in the Behind The Grave map. You enter with a Tear of the Abyss, a daily quest reward whose only use is as an offering, much like a Dungeon Pass (official wiki). It admits 1-8 players, and only the party leader’s tear is consumed. A 10-minute timer starts on entry and on each new set of floors: reach and defeat the boss on the 9th floor of that depth, or the trial kicks everyone out. Floors X1-X8 hold one wave of monsters around that floor’s level, opened by a single Slime; X9 is a boss; every 10th floor is a break room with a potion shop and the elevator unlock. You and each party member get 3 respawns; dying sends you to the previous rest floor, or floor 1 if you died within the first 9 floors. The 10-minute timer does not reset on death (official wiki).

What rewards does the Abyss Trial give?

Weekly rewards rotate and are claimed from Gold Chests. Official examples: floor 10 gives 20 Abyss Essence, floor 30 a Chaotic Soul, floor 60 a Transcendent Soul, floor 90 an Eternal Soul, floor 99 three Transitive Souls. Chests remember conquered floors, so one quick run to floor 10 can claim everything. Beating the floor 99 gauntlet of four world bosses - Scythe Reaper, Reaperfish, Seeker Reaper (Chompy), and Puppet Reaper (Pea) - plus an empowered rematch your leader picks, grants the floor 99 reward and a guaranteed Pathfinder Hat (official wiki).

Party Quests: Puzzles With Friends

Right now there is exactly one party quest: the Beach Shepherd Party Quest in Secret Cove.

How does the Beach Shepherd party quest work?

The Beach Shepherd Party Quest accepts levels 10-99, needs a party of 4-6 (the minimum exists because of Stage 4), runs on a 30-minute timer, and costs a Normal Dungeon Pass (official wiki). Five stages mix combat and puzzles: collect-and-deliver Seashells, a skill-free platforming climb, a slime-counting quiz, the barrel-guessing stage, and a giant blue slime boss in an arena with no side walls. After leaving, everyone receives Player EXP relative to their level, with lower-level characters getting a much larger portion, an amount that shifts with Echoes on the offered pass (official wiki). A launch-week reviewer notes the MapleStory-style design, and classic 2D MMO party-quest veterans will recognize the formula (player report).

What are the quiz and barrel stage tricks?

The wiki’s tips: both quiz platforms always spawn 9 slimes, so count kills instead of tracking moving slimes. Equip the Ninja Throw basic attack, which hits one monster at a time, and remove your weapon to prevent element procs. For the barrels, start with positions 1, 2, and 3 and test onward; position 3 moves most, position 1 least (official wiki). Clearing grants one random reward, weighted from a 25% Energetic Soul down to 4.5% items like the Shepherd’s Aura, Shepherd’s Ring, Goggles, Rain Cloud, and Slime on Head (official wiki).
